so i just picked this rock up at the LFS for super cheap and was wondering whats growing on it the white stuff and the green stuff.

possible, could be a paly, need a better pic. You should remove the calurupa(the plant) as it grows very fast and it will take over shortly. also, the bubble wand is sooooooooooooo freshwater...

nevermind on the why i just googled it and yes that is what it is. it says its ok as long as you prune it and keep it in check. i look at my tank daily so as long as i cut that crap daily it will be ok.

it will start growing in places you do not want it to grow and WILL take over your tank, regardless of how well you prune it. This is my personal garuntee :wave:

Do they ever open up and show skirts? I'd say the pics of the mushrooms are red brick mushrooms. I had a paly sneak in on one rock two years ago and is nearly 60 polyps now. Think I'm actually gonna have to chip it off the rock to help groom soon as he's approaching some SPS territory

the white things havent done anything at all the last 3 days they still look the same (like the picture) and i was told the mushrooms were green ones but ill take ur word for it.

It can take longer then that...but my bet is that they are dead zoas.

It took 5 days for this zoa rock I just got to start opening...
