Hey guys,
I know the question comes up a lot from people asking if they can move their anemone because its in a place that the aquarist doesn't like. The answer to this is no and the anemone has a mind of its own and will find somewhere its happy, yadda yadda yadda.
My situation is a little different. I've had my rose bubble tip for well over a year and in that time its flourished and become my prized "coral".
My tank was moved about 2 months ago and I placed my anemone with its rock in a spot that I thought it might like (and was great for viewing) confident that if it didnt like it, it would move and find a spot of its own choosing where it was happy.
Well, two months in and my nem is a shadow of its former glory and im rather worried about it. My anemone has not moved from the original spot I placed it in, but it doesn't look happy. After moving around some of my other corals that werent doing so hot last night, they are immediately looking better today after being placed lower in the tank. This has me thinking, should I pick up and move the rock and attached anemone to a new spot and see if it does better as well?
Things are fairly out of whack with my tank following the move so it could be other factors affecting the rose, but what do you guys think? Do I sit back and hope the anemone comes back on its own or decides to move? Or do I get in there and try to do SOMETHING?
I'm fairly sure I know what the right answer is (leave it be and fix the tank around it) but its just hard to sit and watch it wither while not being directly proactive
, especially after seeing the improvement in my other corals following relocation.
