Do I need to frag my Duncan ???

My lfs said I had to start fragging some of my corals ...mainly my duncan :-( I have had this duncan for just over 7 months and from 7 heads he now has 72 heads that under moonlights many will open to 2 inches wide.
I really dont want to frag him as I have never fragged before and worried I may harm the coral.
Also have a Suncoral that now has over 100+ heads ... will I have to frag him too ???
Please advise...thanks

You don't have to frag your corals if you don't want to. Your fish store was probably just thinking it's not very good-looking to have 70-100 polyped corals, or just that it is pointless. Also they could have said it so you have room for other species. If you like them there is no reason to frag them.

Her reason for fragging was that the duncans at the bottom were getting less light so the growth was not as great as it would be.
So even if the growth is slowed ... will it harm my duncan ???

No, it will be fine. Corals get fragged naturally (in the wild) when storms, strong waves, clumsy large fish knock them down. Colonies can get really big before this happens. The ones at the bottom not getting as much light shouldn't affect the growth of the colony much if at all. Just make sure they get fed too if you are feeding the coral.

Thanks so much for advice..I will keep my duncan whole...my green gobies will be happy :-)
Thanks again.
