Do I rinse Macro Algae Before Adding to Refugium

Hi Guys, I ordered Chaetomorpha Algae from liveaquaria to add to my refugium. It will arrive with 2nd Day Air (I am not sure if there will be some die-off but I know algae to be quite resilient ). I was wondering if I should rinse the macro algae or not, before adding to refugium. Also does it need acclimatization? I was thinking to put it in a bucket and drip one gallon of water from the tank, rinse the algae with that water and then put it to the refugium. Do you guys think this would be enough?

Thanx!!

Mine came with a bunch of pods on it. I pulled it out of container and stuck it into my sump. Maybe not the best way to do it but mine is growing like crazy.

Nate1984, yours also came from liveaquaria? I definitely don't want to rinse off the pods :).
I think the algae can survive anything I throw at it, but what I am fearing to generate an ammonia spike in the tank and kill the inhabitants.

You shouldn't get ammonia spike from chaeto. Some people rinse/dip new macros to prevent any unwanted hitchhikers. Don't rinse it if you want the pods.

Yes mine came from liveaquaria, I had a ton of pods in mine. I wanted to keep them, I did not have any other hitchhikers. But if you are worried about it and already have some good pods you can alway dip it.
