Do scrubber's smell?

Considering building 1 but don't want any smell.

The only time I smell mine is when I clean it, and it's just a low tide sorta odor.

Yep, same here. Don't worry about smell, your skimmer produces much more and worse.

Mine smells bad, but its in the overflow and the tank has a lid. Plus its starting to get slime growth on it, outcompeteing the hair algae. Usually it starts taking over when the potassium gets low. If i didnt have a lid, it probably wouldnt smell, and if it was only hair algae too.

so for scrubbers do you think it is better to have it built into the sump or would it be better to have it as part of a tank build in its own tank?
