Do shrimp eat snails?

Well, all my little nassarious snails ended up dead, and strangely in the exact same spot!! The only 2 tank dwellers i am aware of is the fire shrimp and the emerald crab. Are one of these predetors or might i have an unknown guest in the tank?

I have thought i heard a click click click at night coming from the tank which typically means mantis.. but its a 12 gallon nano.. im pretty sure i'd have seen him.. theres only 4 rocks in the tank .. and corals...

i was told the shrimp will eat the smaller ones... i ended up getting the mex turbo ones

I have 3 peppermint, 2 cleaner shrimp and 4 emerald crabs I also have tons and tons of snails never seem to find any dead unless they get stuck upside down... but then I have so many its hard to tell when one dies.

Do you have hermit crabs? The emerald crab is a suspect as well. As long as they have plenty of other things to eat they will not be a problem, but crabs will not hesitate to munch on snails. You will find folks on RC who won't put any crabs of any sort in their tanks for this reason.

yea, ive got some blue legged hermits. r they to blame. its so strange how they all ended up dying in the exact same spot

i have seen really big emerald crabs eat snails before

I ended all of my dying snail problems the day I got rid of my blue legged hermits. I'd give that a shot.

I would say if either of them, it would be the emerald that is guilty of this.

I'd suspect the blue legs. Hermits will eat any snail they can get turned over in my experience.

ok.. so i have about 8 hermit crags for sale or trade.. any takers?
