I need to get rid of this or hide it in the ceiling somehow. Two 4" single wall pipes from furnace and from water heater going through the future wall to a 6" double walled pipe that goes through the roof for venting.
Is it possible? I really don't want to have a 2'x2'x2' box hanging from the ceiling and a column would not do me any better.
There is definitely clear space to go above the steel beam between the floor joists to that 6" double walled pipe as the floor joists are 16" on Center. Can I do that and tuck it all up into the ceiling? If I remember correctly those 4" single walled pipes have to be 6" from combustibles however. Which is tricky to do at best. The 6" double walled has a 1" from combustibles spacing which is better.
Could I add a 90 degree elbow to the double walled pipe (if such a thing exists) then take another piece of 6" double walled pipe to the furnace. Then plug in the two 4" pipes into it?
If someone does this for a living and wants to do this for me I would gladly pay them as I don't want to endanger my family but rigging something up that is not safe.
