Do yellow acros hold their color?

I've heard yellow acros are usually turn more brown or green. Anyone managed to keep them a true yellow?

I have a yellow TORT that I've had for over a month and it has retained its color perfectly.

I think it depends more on spectrum than anything else. Seems yellow corals like to turn green under bluer lighting, while they retain the yellow color with 10K and under.

I have a samentosa that is yellow with pink tips. Base has gone to a green which I like the three color combo. I dont think it will all go green though.

I have purchased a yellow acro... not exactly sure of the species, it was Bright Yellow with baby blue tips...

after a month under 440watts of VHO half actinic half 50/50's and 2 65watt PC duel daylights ( half 65K and half 10K ) it has grown considerably, but however... has turned a nice shade of NEON green and lavender tips...

Still an awsome peice, but not yellow anymore...

i agree.
They call one exactly like Leishman's a tenuis, but his "tort" polyps almost look like a yongei. That's why I don't get too caught up in ID's?

No it's a tort.

I got it as a frag from a local reefer. It has developed blue/purple polyps at the tips (only on the new growth)

I got this in january and it holding it's yellow color so far. you can see a hint of green in the center.

I believe it all depends on the kelvin of your lighting.

i have no problem with yellows.. under 6.5k mh bulbs

i have that coral that you have in your link, it is under 10k and its yellow with blue tips, and the P.E is crazy, so imho yes they can keep their color

not sure my is the same or not. but it started to turn brown at the base. tips is turning to tinted green.

I have seen SUPER BRIGHT Yellow acros with baby blue tips under XM20Ks..

i have one just like it ant cant find an id for it

also i havea yellow tenuis under 10kxms that hasnt lost any of it color in almost a year now

i have had a yellow tort for over 9 months and the color never varied at all. It has been the exact same since i got it. It's under and xm 10k 250w bulb. looks great
