Do you have a Lion in your reef?

You might also be able to catch your lion, 'stalking' a prey victim. If he's stalking something, it would be best to remove him. (unless you don't mind losing what he is stalking) They've been known to stalk a fish or invert for a very very long time. (and then it disappears)

Yeah thats kind of always maintains a damper on my excitment for the fish. Everyday that I own him could be his last. I watch the fish like a hawk and to be honest he doesn't show any interest in his tankmates. But like I said nature will eventually take its course. When it happens someone will get a nice heathly Russell's Lionfish....Probably for cheap.

Hi Folks,

I have a lionfish (Pterois antennata) in a 75-gallon reef with soft corals, LPS and mushrooms. The lionfish shares the tank with a mimic tang (Acanthurus pyroferus). The two fish seem to almost completely ignore each other. Also, the lionfish is fed frozen krill (and other types of shrimp) from the end of a feeding stick.

Here's a couple of photos of the beast in question.
