Pictures are a bit cloudy/out of focus but in general it looks pretty good..Lots of seemingly "extra" life (sponges/bivalves/tube worms/macro algaes) there... I don't see any concerns there..
There is a big worm in a rock but can't catch a pic yet. Thanks I didn't see any aptasia but just put in so will see. Also me readings are at .25 for ammonia and nitrite so this should help. So excited.
Got the rock from gulf rock. My tank is at the end of the cycle. Had some green hair algae and the low readings of ammonia and nitrite. Hoping these rocks help to finish it for me.
"We are one of the few aquaculturalists permitted by the federal government and the state of Florida to grow and harvest live rock specifically for marine aquariums in the gulf of Mexico. We have around half a million pounds of live rock under production on our federal live rock lease site located 10 miles offshore in the Gulf of Mexico's EEZ zone."
very cool according to their web site, they sourced the rock from land excavated by the building industry in Florida. They then planted it in their leased site in the gulf back in 1995. they harvest and store it in holding tanks.
Yep, Bryopsis. I had that when I first had my tank for a few weeks and after that it went away as quickly as it came. No worries. Rock looks good as far as I can tell from the pics!
