Does 3.5L and 8L tanks are good size for rotifers culture?

Hi everyone,

Does using 4.5L an 8L tanks for rotifers culture it's o.k?

I am going to use the culture to feed my aquarium fish and corals.

Don't have yet a clwonfish breeding

I use a 5 gallon bucket filled based on my rotifier density. I start a new batch with one gallon at about 50 per ml, then incraese volume slowly as the density rises. All the while harvesting about .25% each day. I've only been growing them for a week or so however, but this is the general guidline that came with the order from reeds. so far so good. Also rotifiers do not need light. just an airstone and some good microalgae to eat. the key according to reeds is to keep enough algae to keep them fed without overdosing which will cause the algae that is not consumed to break down into ammonia. Maybe others with more experience will chime in.

So should I tkae a backet instet of the 3.5L Tank?

I actually use 3ea 2 gallon buckets, I don't raise many fish and by keeping three I can manage crashes easier. However I've not had a crash in a long time, I change their water out once every 10 days or so, feed lightly and have not had a shortage since I started this system.

I'm moving all this out to my shop in a special work area, and will then move to two 5 gallon containers to save space (they are tall ones).
