Beside some fish, does anything else consume sponge ? I am losting a sponge that i recently got and wonder if it is the bristleworm or cleaner shrimp. Or something else that I can't think of.

Any idea ?

Bristleworms & cleaners don't eat sponges but a lot of other inverts do - usually small & cryptic ones. Some sponges will also quickly die if the conditions aren't right.

Dear Leslie,

Thanks for the input. Is there anything particular that one need to watch out for in water chemistry ? My tank has a few sponges. Some of them growed by themselves. It is just this one that I newly introduce into the tank that is decaying. I have tried different water current by changing loaction (different part of the tank and moving it into the refug.). It does not help.

Sorry.... I know natural history, not aquarium behavior. There's been a lot of discussion about the right conditions for sponges here. Try a search using a couple of keywords like "sponge" "growth" "condition" "light" etc and you'll find a lot of information.
