I have a 75gal tank that I havnt used for a couple years and dug it out and decided to use it as a temp tank. I have been buffing it, and it looks pretty good, so now I am thinking I might keep it up awhile longer. While cleaning it, I tried to get some glue off the bottom, and used denatured alcohol, forgetting that putting it near a tank is a no no. I now have crazing across the whole bottom about 1in up. Now I am not sure if it has been there all along and I never noticed it, as when the tank is looked at directly you cannot see it. When the tank is put on end they are very noticeable. I also have a couple different lights on it so I can see the scratches to buff them out, and they stand out. This tank will be set up so I can take my current tank down, and be down my cellar. So if it fails it wont be a disaster, although I would like to avoid that.
So does the crazing weaken the joint is my question, and should I set it up outside, and leave it for a couple days to make sure it isnt compromised.
Thanks for any input
