I need some help and advice here
I placed a Sharknose (Cleaner) goby in my tank on a Saturday afternoon, and he looked to be doing great. Very active and feeding well. This fish was in my 90 gallon, and now is in quarantine. OK, I KNOW, I LEARNED MY LESSON. I WILL quarantine everything from now on!!!
3 days later I noticed multiple white, raised, spots on his body, sorry but no pictures as he is fast and the spots very small. Some of these are not "dots" but elongated spots. I assume this is Ich and have started hypo-salinity treatment SG = 1.009 for 14 days
The more I read and watch him the more I think that this may be a mis-diagnosis. The web sites say these goby's are very disease resistant and he has never rubbed against any surfaces.
The tank he was in contains rock and sand from Tampa Bay Saltwater. There are lots of different types of crabs and shrimps, including several mantis shrimp. I do not think that these could be "war wounds"
Are there other possibilities that I am missing

ammonia = 0
nitrites = 0
nitrates = 20 and falling (relatively new tank)
