how mean do domino damsels really get? i have read they can be a problem. but i still really like them. i want to keep it with a clown goby, backlip butterfly, and a flame angel. will it bother any of them.

IME one of the most aggressive damsels once they put some size on. I would not keep it with any passive fish. If the tank is large enough. the aggression might be manageable but I've had them go after fish larger than themselves. The clown goby would not fare well.

I had a domino and a yellowtail damsel and the domino had the yellowtail living in fear. The domino would constantly chase his tankmate around. Yellowtails get pale when they are scared and ever since the domino was removed the yellowtail is never pale.

Really mean. Had to get rid of mine. I could not add any new fish to my 155 gallon with him trying to kill them.

Dominoes will hit my hand when I try to clean the tank. And he tries to intimidate fish that are twice his size. I would not put it in any tank unless you use it as a cleanup crew for the larger fish in a FOWLR, like I do in my 300 gallon.

I had two Domino Damsels for awhile they both where about 4 inches or so. The kept picking on my Eel and my Nurse finally one day I was looking in the tank I guess my Nurse was tired of it and killed both of them. She didn't eat them she pinned one under my live rock an bit the tail off the other.

super mean and aggressive and they get big...your cute little .50 incher will be 4 to 5 inches in a year or so...

A number of damsels are very tough. I have a jewel damsel in with my titan trigger and he attacks the titan. He has suffered some damge for it but things seemed to have settled down now and the jewel eats the scraps instead of taking the largest piece of food and taking off with it
