Donor: Yellow Leather

More info was suggested to me, so here goes. Leathers need moderate to high flow, and moderate lighting. PC and VHO would be fine for this coral. I started it in a 20 hex with 32 watts of PC, and it has been in a 58 with alternately 400 and 250 watt 20K MH for the last two years. I don't have any recent pics, but here is one from a few years ago.

The only real difference is that it's bigger of course, and has two heads now.

I will take some

It's yours whenever you want it. Same deal as all donor frags, when it doubles in size you frag and donate yourself. This one could be fragged now if someone is feeling adventurous.

Jason,

Will you be at the meeting on Saturday? I live in Stillwater so that would be the easiest but if you aren't going to be there I can make a trip down to get it.

Thanks,

Tom

Unfortunately no. I have to work every other weekend, and they currently fall on meeting days. If someone who is willing to frag it can pick it up, they could take half and give you the other half at the meeting.

Will you be around on Friday during the day? Could I meet you then to pick it up? Let me know

Tom

Yes I will be. I'm off Wednesday through Friday this week. I'll PM you with address phone number and such.

If there will be any extra frags of the leather, I would love to try a little piece. Let me know. I understand if that won't work out. I will be at the meeting if that is best for pick up.

I will see how it goes. I am going to frag it for Rocky (rbb213) when I get it since he asked. I will see and bring you a piece at the meeting if I decide to frag it again.

Tom

Good Luck guys.

Yellow leathers are really hard to keep. Many might consider them an expert coral. I have had them do well for a months or two and then they deteriate.

I've had it for three years under four different types of lights, in two tanks. This must be a hard to kill leather.:D One difference I've noticed is that this one doesn't seem to build up a slime coat. Others I've seen really need a lot of flow.
