Don't Know what this is....

Hello all,

This green tube like stuff is growing in my tank at a fast rate...

I don't know what this is... but it has grown pretty fast and there are small ones growing on other rocks now...

Can anyone tell me what it is and if it is good or bad?...

I have seen this before. very strange looking, but believe it or not, it is a macro. i will get a more specific id in a few minutes

it is Neomeris sp.

I think i'll keep them and let them be as long as they contain themselves in that area.... as my 28gallon is a fish only tank... currently only 1 lionfish...

It's calcium based. If your calcium levels drop it will die, a little fyi if you wanted to keep it. It's commonly called caterpillar weed.

I have had these pop up here and there but they almost always die off.
