Some of you know that I have recently moved out to Europe to go to medical school to become a dentist although it's been a bit difficult to adapt I love it out here. When I was applying my mother said that if you get into dental school you can have what ever you want and the only thing I wanted was for her to keep my fish tank and have someone take care of it. Now for what what this post is about.
The guy that come out every 2-4 weeks and every time he comes out he FaceTimes me and shows my the tank. All the coral are doing better then when I was at home colors are amazing and grow is amazing and sps are starting to encrust in the rock. I have lost several frags during this time but we all loose frags. The don't mess with it because I'm 7000 miles away to mess with it approach is working wonders for me.
My tank is now 6 months old thriving before anyone says anything about putting sps into a new tank all the rock was removed from my previous system bleach and then put back into a different system and cured for 6 months.

I had a similar experience when I was out of town for 2 weeks. What I realized was that the person taking care of my tank was much more rigorous about dosing than I had been. I would often forget to dose or just be mildly lazy for a day or two. She was religious about doing it every single day. My growth took off because of the stability that introduced and the availability of Ca and Alk needed for growth.

I'm not saying it's the same thing as you. It is just such a wonderful thing to have a breakthrough like that. Now I make sure to dose every single morning and evening.
