Just curious to know how often most of you dose your tank with the recommended amount of Part A & B? I hear some do it once a week and some every day. Please give me your thoughts.

I used to use that, but have since gone to Mrs. Wages pickling lime in my auto top off water. I still dose one part of that if I need to boost one or the other.

Also, initially, I never dosed unless I tested first. I use Salifert Calcium and Alkalinity test kits and still test around 1x per week.

I have a small tank in my office. It still easier for me to add Two part everyday. I think my Alk would drop too much if I dosed just once a week. Just missing Sat and Sun causes a drop.

If I had room for an ATO, I would do Kalk.

It depends on what your keeping and how much cal/alk the are using. If you have primarily soft corals you will not have to dose as much. Just test alot at first to get an understanding of how your levels are changing day to day.

I have an auto top off. What do you do? put the recommended dose in the top off water and let it do its thing? I never use equal parts only have to raise my alk a little bit every week or so. Everything seems fine but i keep hearing put equal parts in multiple times a week. I was thinking if i start doing it maybe my speed of growth of corals will increase.

Using the 2-part I got my levels to what I wanted.

I emptied out my ATO refill container. I then added 1 tsp of Mrs. Waging Pickling Lime to a gallon of DI/RO water which I put in my ATO refill container. I then let it top off a few times and retested the tank water. I then adjusted the amount of Pickling lime till I got it to maintain the values I wanted.

Every so often I do have to add one part of the 2 part if the values is not where it should be.

Have you read this article about lime?

exactly...it depends on how many gallons and the daily consumption rate and obviously SPS sytstems will use alot more...as mentioned test every day w/o adding or removing anything to determine your rate and dose accordingly to maintain those desired levels.....
