Dosing w/Sugar but no bloom YET!!!

So I started dosing sugar about a week ago starting off with 1/4 teaspoon and adding one additional 1/4 each day. I made it up to 2 teaspoons and a half yesterday, but today I decided to take a risk and jump to a Tablespoon.

Now they say to increase dosage daily until you get a bacterial bloom and your water gets cloudy. Once it gets cloudy you reduce the amount you used to get it clody by half. And that is your daily dose of sugar. And I as of yet have not had any such thing. Water is crystal clear skimmer doesn't cough up anything more than it usually does and water params are great.

Could there be something wrong with my tank that after adding one tablespoon of sugar I get no effect? I read on here in the sugar dosing thread a guy with a 250 gallon tank he adds 1 table spoon a day. So it seems weird that my 75 gallon is able to withstand a 250 gallons dose with no ill effects.

If it matters I run a octo dnw150 skimmer, plus a refugium with a integrated skimmer. So no worries on the sugar depleting my oxygen.

It is the same concept of dosing vodka. It is just a carbon source. I have been dosing vodka for almost 3 months now. It took at least 3 weeks of upping the dosage they the chart says before anything ever happen. Give it time but do not go to fast. It is better to use less then more and also go slow you dont want to mess anything up. The skimmer will start getting nasty stuff coming out. Now as for dosing as much as 250 gallon there is a maintenance dose and a starting does. Also it depends on the other tanks bioload. The great thing about sugar and vodka once you get the levels good for a week or so then you can feed more because the sugar will kill what ever is left. Just give it sometime.
