Dosing Zeovit with dosing pumps?

Hello,

Im planning on a new tank and I will be using zeovit products on it. So my question would be, is it possible to dose zeovit supplements(ZeoStart 2, ZeoFood7, Pohl, Sponge & Amino Acid High Concentrate) thru a dosing pump?

My plan would be to dillute the said zeovit supplements at 1:9 ratio with tank water (IE. 30ml zeo start 2 with 270ml tank water), have the dosing pump dose 10ml of the mix every day.

Can those of you guys using Zeovit share your input on this?

Its difficult do dose such small quantities with a dosing pump so you have to dilute the products which is not possible in all cases. Additional those dosing systems can fail which can cause a lot of trouble. Some dose ZeoStart2 with a dosing pump as it is best to dose it 2 x daily. It can be diluted with sterile water from the pharmacy.

whats the difference of sterile water and those bottled mineral water? can i also use the bottled mineral water?

sterile water is used to avoid any adverse reaction, and mineral water contains misc. ingredients that may cause issues so it is not wise to use this in place of. even when dosing with zeostart2 you must be sure that the syringe tip does not touch the tank water to avoid cross contamination.

I would expect DI water could be used as well but sterile is the best way to go, boiling DI is not perfect but is probably just as good for a reef tank. If your diluted mix begins to look funky or smell then start all over and sterilize with bleach and rinse well. Dosing zeostart2 multiple times a day is best due to providing a constant level of food for the bacteria. The other suplements could be done on a bi weekly basis and isn't worth the cost of another pump. I would expect as long as your carefull about cleanliness you could mix a few of them together but you realy don't know.
