so i was thinking of dosing the ph portion of my two part (oceans blend) I know this stuff has to be shaken every time befor dosing so i was thinking of a 5 gal bucket with a power head to keep it mixed just doing the res any thoughts or been there done thats would be welcome.

Usually the shaking for two parts is related to temp issues for cold temps. If you are keeping it at room temp especially in Fl you will should be fine. Since you are asking about just the alk I would ask are you having an issue with your alk. If so I would ask if you are testing your newly made salt that you are using for a water change? Different brands of salts mix have a different chemical make up. I have seen some salts mix with a 3.5 meq/L alk, 1050 magnesium and 350 ppm calcium were a another companies mixes at 550 ppm calcium, 1500ppm mag and 2.5 meq/L alk.

Noticed this thread, just curious about the shelf life of the product also, have some laying around for a couple years, can it still be used safely? Thanks

well problem is i have a 120 tall and t5s over it so by the time my ph comes back up after droping over night it is time for the lights to go back out. so i'm thinking of dosing at night to keep the ph up

What are your levels? Some tank run low. Especially thoose that are in closed buildings. I would check to see if you have a co2 problem. You can do this very easy by testing the tanks pH. Then place that water outside the building with an airstone in it for one hour. If the pH goes up after that hour than you have a co2 issue and chemicals will not fix the problem. In fact adding extra buffers can harm the tank by forcing your calcium lower and lower. To help co2 issues you need to find a way to lower the co2 build up inside. Opening the doors and window to allow fresh air will help. If the pH does not got up what type of pluming, pump size, and tank size do you have?
