Downsizeing to Nano?

1st off, I've been haning out in the Nano fourm latley and I love the stuff I see here, thanks for shareing.

Now the question. I have a 55g that has been set up for a year now and is doing OK. The only problem I have with it is that it costs more than I want to keep it up. With the ammount of $ that i'm able to put into it I can olny get "good" results.. but I want great results. So I am throwing arround the ideal of down sizeing to a 20L to save $ and to maximize the $ that I do put into it.

Has anyone here downsized for the same reason or something similar? How did it work out for you? Were you happy with a smaller tank after tasting the sweetness of open realestate? Did it really cost less and save you $?

Some of my friends think that I'll hate going to a smaller tank, but my thought is that with the $ I make selling most all my livestock I can set it up to get superb results, which is what I want. It would be a SPS prop/nano.

What do you all think?

Do it, I actually like my little tanks MORE. Just bought a 24 AquaPod love it.
You just can't keep big fish, so I have a 90 and a 40 for that.
But I'm breaking-down my two 10's and putting everything in the new aquapod sweet.
Little tanks are fun, and cheaper to maintain the right way I think.
Just my opinion.

It still takes plenty of money to keep a quality nano going. If it was me, I would stay with the larger tank and be happy with "good" and forget about "superb". Just my opinion. That said, you also have the option of getting out of the hobby until you can afford it and thus be in better shape to obtain that superb level.

Anybody can keep a 55 or bigger, all you need is money. Having a nano is an art and magic.
