Drain pipe recommendations

What do you all recommend for a single drain pipe. Are there any diy ones that work better than the stand pipe they sell in stores. Looking for something reliable and as quite as possible. Thanks

Stockman standpipe works, if you do it correctly it will be silent. I run one on my frag tank and it's worked flawlessly.

jim- search here or google durso drains. lots of dyi out there for them. also heard herbie method is good, i think its just a modified durso
