Drastic Change in Behavior?

I've had my 20gal sw tank setup since November. That tank was at my new home in CT and i set it up while i still lived in Fl and my parents took general care of it until i moved. the first fish they bought was a blue damsel which was moved into my 55gal tank a few weeks after i moved to CT. before i moved the damsel, i bought a bicolored psuedochromis which was a little shy. it would come out to eat and would eat off the surface with the blue damsel. it would also swim out in the open regardless of where i was in the room as long as the blue damsel was also out. after i moved the blue damsel i rarely saw the psuedochromis unless i put food in the tank and sat still so it would come out to eat. if i walked into the room, it would dart back into its little cave under the LR. this has been going on for almost 4 months now. i had pretty much given up hope of it ever going back to the behavior it had with the damsel unless i got it a "friend", even though it is very territorial. i went back to FL for a week and just got back. yesterday, same behavior. today, the second i opened the top of the tank to feed it, it was out and waiting for food and fed off the surface immediately. im like wth?!?! i hope this isnt because its hungry because i fed it yesterday and ive been away before. has anyone else seen a drastic change in behavior like this before?
