I have been gathering parts and peices for a big tank for over a year now and never thought I would end up with one so soon, but I have a 180 RR sitting in the garage just waiting on somewhere to put it! Its 6x2x2 oceanic. For all who pmed earlier about my 80 bowfront it was traded for the 180 so sorry about that. My dad is gonna try to have a stand/canopy built by May 10th when they come down for the baby and hopefully the den will be finnished soon thereafter if not by then.
Planning mostly softies, not much luck with stonies and some nice big fish. Hopefully a reef safe queen angel! I am sure I will have lots of questions when the time comes as I am clueless as to how the pipes/plumming goes down the overflows (it has none now). And I was wanting a 55 gallon tank for a sump if anyone has one laying around. I may just do a rubbermade deal from tracter supply though.
My skimmer is rated for 240 gallons (a plus) and I have 2, 1,200 GPH pumps for it and a SCWD (sp) for it already. I plan on duel 250 MH's in the center (gotta buy from Charles in East TN) and 2 175 I already have on either end. Trying to stay away from a chiller.
I am gonna sell the stand it came with, pickled (whitewashed) oak with 4 raised panel doors. You can see what it looks like on oceanic's website. It has some water damage but mostly cosmetic, it needs re-finnishing. Its 6x2'x32" tall.
Sorry for the book length post, just wanted to share
Just wish I was putting water in it tommorow!
