Drilling liverock?

I am thinking about making a tower of rocks in my new tank. What type of drill bit should I use to drill a hole in the rocks so that I can use PVC as the core of the structure?

standard masonary drill - same diameter as the rod size and tap in

try to stay towards the central parts of the rocks to prevent breaking the rock. Also, i have noticed that some rocks are MUCH easier to drill than others. It seemed the LR that was very porous was easier to drill because it was not so dense, but then i had dense base rock that were extremely soft and almost broke into sand while drilling. In contrast i had rocks that visually looked like it would be no problem to drill and then once i put the drill to them i barely made a dent. Good luck and do not forget the pictures
