Drilling tank

Drilled my first tank today.... was as easy as everyone says but also as nerve racking as well..... step 150 on my way back into the hobby...

I drilled my first one recently. Took my time and it went smoothly. Did it in the backyard with a water hose running over the tank. Turned out great. Glad to hear it was as easy as you had heard.

Go slow..... no slower.. let the bit do the work.. don't force it....just keep it from overheating with a bit of water and it is easy..

Nothing good happens fast in reefing..

I was surprised when it only took 3 mins for me to drill out each of the holes on my tank (5 holes ~15 mins total). I just used plumbers putty to make a ring around the space I was drilling, and put cold water in. I also only did 3/4" holes so maybe that's why it took so much less time than the internet suggested?

I suspect it has more to do with the thickness of the glass rather than the diameter but im sure that also has something to do with it. What size tank did you drill? Do you know how thick the glass was?
