drip acclimate SPS

so i am planning to transfer the lights friday and the corals starting thursday. So they will be in very low light for a day or two max.

my question is, if i drip acclimate, do i need to float them first for temp change? that will be alot of pieces to float.

Just drip acclimate and check the temperature in the bucket/tank. If they are close/or getting close after dripping I wouldn't worry about it. If they are way off and you don't feel like floating the bag, just drop a heater in there and heat it up a bit until it matches with the tank.

Leave the sps out of the water a minute and let them slime before putting them in the tank. In nature, they do that for their own protection.

MIke,
before or after acclimation? or both?

You should always drip to acclimate for specific gravity, temp and pH. Then hold it out of the water for a minute and place it in your display. It will slime and the slime will go away without any help.
