Dry DI resin

in my RODI unit, when not in use, my DI chamber always seems to go dry. then refills when i run water through it to refill my tank or for water changes. what happens to the DI during this period? is there any negative effect to this?

If your DI resin dries out it will lose it's effectiveness.

I would be inclined to think that whilst in the RO chamber
that it would stay moist enough to not be effected.
