Drying Out Live Rock Question

I am fully convinced that my LR is full of Phosphate.

It was an existing system when I bought it and it was in bad shape.

I'm getting ready to set up a new tank, with newly cycled LR.

If I take my current LR and set it outside for a while, will that remove the phosphates from them?

I'd like to somehow clean them up and get all the phosphate out of them and reintroduce them to my 75 gallon tank once they've been cycled appropriately.

Check in the chemistry forum. I believe their method involved a mild acid bath. just leaving them out in the sun won't do it.

Search Marco Rocks and vinegar/acid bath. Basically you'll peel off the superficial layer of the rock to get rid of the phosphate.
