The typical way around that is to take a black frame shot at the same settings. The D70 and up even have an automatic mode to do that and subtract out the "hot" pixels on the fly. However it takes twice as long- Say one 30s exposure for the picture, then another 30s one to get the data to subtract from the first one. Every time.
So I do the dark frame subtraction by hand from a single dark frame exposure that I take at the end of my shooting.
