Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Sometimes i think i am a genius and other times i think i am about as dumb as a doorknob. I have been trying to keep my PH pen and TDS pen wet. This is not a simple thing. I have forgotten it several times and they have dried out. Now they won't calibrate properly. I guess i will have to replace them. Now for the genius part.

I just came up with this idea. Let me know if you think it will or won't work.

I will place the PH pen in a cup that will float in the sump of my aquarium. It will have some holes in the bottom and a foam ring around the top to keep it floating at the correct height. I can do the same thing with my TDS pen but place it in my RO/DI reservoir.

Genius or knucklehead. Am i over thinking this?

Aren't these normally stored in some kind of stock solution? I've known pH probes to be stored in a neutral solution. And TDS pen..? They need to be stored wet? What kind of TDS pen is it? I'm curious now... I would think that storing them in the sump (saltwater) would cause corrosion. It's not exactly what I'd recommend as a first choice.
