Duncan, one day great, next near death?

So, my duncan looks like this today, looks like a goner.
Any idea why it would all of a sudden crash?
No other coral looks any different.
Anything I can do? I can dip it, i guess.

Not melting just looks stressed is anything stinging it ? or fish picking at it ?

I have seen nothing bothering it, and no other coral is close enough to touch it.
If i'm not too tired, i'll move it to my other tank tonight, dipping along the way.

Yes they do in the center of them, but there are also a few different varieties of Duncan. I've got three different ones in my tank.

How long has it been in the tank? I had one that hated being up on the rock wall (looked terrible if it even opened) where flow was too strong but it's fine on the sandbed with what still seems like a lot of flow. If it's new, try moving it.

Yup, I have one with pink flesh/mouths and neon green tips. It encrusts but doesn't branch. My others are both the green branching type.

Mine does that for a day or two before a big growth spurt. Give it a day or two and see if it comes back, unless you can see tissue coming off, in which case I would be worried. THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION.

Check your alk and calcium. Mine would loom like that if the levels got to low.

I dose, so my kh never strays far from 8.4, and my calcium is set at 450.
But, I was at the end of my jugs, so I mixed up new batches the other day.
The mg was a bit low, 1240, but that's expected, as it always drops to that level after a gallon of the kh & ca.
Put mg back up to 1350 as required. Mmaybe that did it, not sure.
