Duncan Problems

I have been keeping a duncan for a couple of months now, and it has been doing great. Grew from a single head to six heads in just 3 months, but a few weeks ago it quit extending as much, but still seemed to be happy. Now, it has completely closed up and has not been open for four days. I moved it to a lower flow and lower light spot in the tank, but does anyone have any thoughts? I have a zoa and another piece of coral in my tank that are both as happy as always, so I don't know that it's water chemistry related.

sounds like an alk swing have you tested/dosed done a large water change prior. if the coral was happy in one spot unless you changed flow/lights intensity it might be a good idea to move it back to the spot it was happy in. btw zoas are not a coral I would base the health of my tank off of.

Well, you obviously had very good growth in the initial spot. I agree with above. Check parameters, temperature, etc. See if anything is bothering it? Any new equipment? Think of a variable that could have changed. Good luck.

Mine decided to close up after switching it to a different tank. Turns out the tank was too cold, once I fixed this it opened up some.

Then, I adjusted the flow. Gave it MORE random flow and it opened up fully. I feed mine regularly too, along with the acans. I don't have fish right now, so they get to eat 2-3x a week. When I get fish they will probably eat every day lol.
