I will upload pictures later, but my Duncan used to have a nice turquoise and greenish skeleton that almost matched it's disc and over the past month or so it's become covered in this purple slimy stuff. It could be coralline algae, but I was under the impression that coral skeletons typically resist algae grown on them.
My main concern is that the purple goo on it is suffocating the coral. This is the only coral I have in the tank with this issue and as you can see from another of my recent posts, I hardly have any coralline at all in my tank.
i was curious if someone else has experienced this. My Duncan hasn't looked great lately but has gone from 2-6 heads. the new heads are very small though so I've begun feeding it twice a week for some additional nutrition.
