How rare are duncans and generally how much per polyp should they expect to sell for, stunning coral in my oppinion.

50.00 per polyp for nice, large captive polyps. Maybe less for the smaller wild polyps coming in.

I am on a waiting list for the ORA kind in FL for $50 a head but it may take a little while. I too think the australian ones.. the ones with purple tips or so in them? go a bit cheaper

I got one from LiveAquaria earlier this weekYou can find them on their aquacultured page. Very large head and a beautiful vivid green body with slightly purple tenticles. Very, very pretty. It was better than what I expected so I was pleasently surprised. As Aqauaticman74 noted it was $69.99 per polyp. They have had single, double, and triple polyp frags pretty regularly in the past few weeks anyways.

I'll third that on Liveaquaria's duncans. They're very nice. I've not seen a picture of a duncan that looks as good as to ones in my tank.

Yup, I also picked up my first duncan from liveaquaria last week. Its a really cool strain. Even better because I had a $50 girft cert there from Christmas, so my Duncan only cost me $19.99 for 1 full head and 2 babies. Not the best photos ever, sorry. I happen to work at Phishy Business on weekends, and will probably get a piece of his once its ready to be fragged again; it is a deeper green than what Ive got in my tank now.

Are there different varieties? The only ones I've seen in person were a bit over 2 inches in diameter, not dark green, rather pale, but gotta love the size

There seems to be quite a large shipment of these doing the rounds of LFS here in the UK at the moment, picked these two up yesterday one is 5 headed the other is 3 headed paid £40 for each coral so im well chuffed :eek1: :eek1:

I'm so very glad you posted that, I've never seen any scale on the RMW and they always seemed small when I saw them on eggcrate. The others are huge and really glow. Here are a few recent pix, its somewhere between 13-15 fully developed heads.

You can see the neon body color here, and mine have been shaded for a month.
