I have a 1 1/4" drain in an internal overflow. I really don't need a drain that size -- I'll be circulating about 400 to 500 gph through my sump. In fact, 1" plumbing would be a bit easier to work with under my stand.
I see that the recommendation for a durso is to use plumbing one size up from your drain. 1 1/2" plumbing would be a bit difficult to work with in my overflow.
I was thinking of doing it like this -- 1" reducer bushing in the bottom of the bulkhead and then 1" plumbing to my sump. I'd use 1 1/4" plumbing for the standpipe. I guess I could also just stick with 1 1/4" the whole way -- although my sump will be fed with an acrylic bracket with a 1" fitting, so 1" plumbing would be better. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.
