duster popped its crown

i posted earlier about my duster well it did pop its crown the worm seems to be in the tube still, will it grow a new one? not sure what caused this. as i said before my perameters are good i also feed it cyclops or liquid gold its in a low flow area and its been in that spot for 6 months any input on this?

Cyclops is too big for a duster. Feed phyto.

Dusters lose their radiole (crown) when they are stressed. They can grow it back but it is their primary gas exchange organ so I would check the water chem to see what might have stressed it.

I've had two lose thier crowns one grew back and one didn't. My advice give it several weeks to see if it grows a new one. I'm thinking it took mine about 4 weeks to regrow.

i had just checked the water params 2 hours prior to the crown popping all was good.

ok thanks, like i said the worm apears to be in there but im not going to pinch it and see i dont want to stress it out more,
only time will tell

Yeah, leave it alone for a couple of weeks. Mine did the same thing when I needed to move it because it seemed to be irritating some corals. A new crown re-grew within about three weeks and it returned to its former size. I have read that phytoplankton is the recommended food, thought I honestly don't feed mine and it has been doing well for at least a year. I put cyclopeez in the tank for the coral and it may/or may not be using some of that.
