Dwarf Angel Diet

I have a 24g reef tank set up with 32lbs live rock. I have a royal gramma and just got a Potters Angel. I have been feeding Mysis Shrimp and it seems the Potter is not eating. The Royal eats like a horse. He has been swimming around the tank frantically at times almost like he is searching for something to eat. It has been 5 days and outside of him grazing on the algae, I have not seen him eat what I feed him. Any recommendations on the proper diet for dwarf angels?

first of all yes 24 gallon is to small for sure. Secondly its eat like a pig not eat like a horse and lastly you need to feed your angel nori for it to survive. It will eat some mysis but that is not the proper diet for an angel. Start with nori and do some research on pellet food designed for angels. Good luck and buy a bigger tank

I may not be an expert, but I do know my fair share when it comes to angels. Here's my opinion:

1) As stated before, a 24 is too small of a tank for an angel. I would be pretty sure he is stressed out due to the small environment. That could cause him not to eat.

2) As far as dwarf angels go, the Potter's tends to be one of the most finicky and least hearty of the species. Combine that knowledge with a small environment, I would be willing to bet your chance for success with a potter's is rather limited.

Feed him Nori if you chose to keep him. If he does not take to the Nori, I would interprut that as a bad sign, although not eating after 5 days is also a bad sign.

Maybe try and dose the food/nori in garlic to help entice the angel to eat. Hopefully that will help, but I have to be honest, I am pretty certain he is just too stressed out because of the environment, but that's just my opinion. Good luck.

OKay we'll my potters barely eats nori. Picks at it occasionally and this guy is a little overweight:) Mysis and peletts are his favorites.

You need to try some different things to get it to eat. Use garlic soaked foods. Mine was a little stubborn at the begginning but after a few days of being hungry he learned to eat in a hurry. I have to agree about the 24 though. Mine has 130 pounds of rock to pick on all day. And i have 3 pygmy angels in there all eating off them.

Good luck and hopefully it will begin to eat for you. But i think everyone is right. It is just to stressed from the size of tank.

As mentioned about try garlic with the food. Garlic in the water will stimulate the appetite of the fish and maybe push the potter's to eat something
