I have a 36x18x15 tank (35 UK gallons) and was wandering if this could accomodate a dwarf lion if possible. This also leaves me with 11.5inches left of fish to consider goind on a 1inch per 2 gallon basis. What fish would you recommend for a tank this size?

Many thanks,

James

The inch of fish per gallon thing doesn't work. But if you want to go by that, its better to go an inch of fish per 4 gallons not 2.

Wait, sorry, that's UK gallons. Hmm. too lazy to do the conversion. Move to America and ask me again.

Mike

A fuzzy dwarf or dwarf zebra lion should do fine in there.

Do NOT put a Volitan's in there, though.

Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish isn't bad in a 35g. Enjoy 'em. Make sure that it is eating prepared food before you bring it home from the LFS. Lionfish can be picky on what to eat.

After keeping two dwarf lions in the past in my 75, I think they need more room than a 35 gallon. Mine were always active and were always swimming around the tank.

James and ATM-
lionfish and all scorpionfish will eat anything that fits into their mouths. I would guess that any small clownfish and certainly firefish are on the menu.
Next dwarf lionfish are reef-safe in the pure sense of the word meaning they have NO interest in corals. However -I call them reef-limiting, in that they will prevent you from having any moving invert, or smaller fish
Please read that lionfish article from the link I provided above, it goes into detail about the Q? you asked
