dying fish? :-(...(video)

Greg, I am not sure the detail of how this wrasse got to this tank like that but that behavior is consistent with other fish I observed with ammonia gill burning, It is almost impossible to reverse it, the fish can no longer p/u oxygen from his gills. Sorry

the wierd thing is is that the fish is fine now..it only happens at night?

and how come it does not affect the other fish in there with him?

:-\

Well, it is not impossible that other fish don't get the same simptoms, If I am not mistaken that is a Rosy scales fairy wrasse, he is among the delicate ones of that family.
Are you saying that the fish is alive now and he only gets like that at night?

The wierd thing is my anthias just started twisting around like that...but only in the AM or PM when its just the atinics on...he gets a lot more red and just starts swimming similar to that but just up and down for about 10 min...and goes back to normal...I dont understand it either...Best of luck with it...its a beautiful wrasse! Where did you get it?

It could be the fact that the lights have been off all night and the oxygen was depleted, once the light beging the photosynthesis there may be more oxgen available. Just a guess.

yes he only does that at night, but i havent really been keeping a light over it. its by a window, so i let the sun shine in.

there is nothing in there that can perform photosythesis. its a qt tank thats under hypo due to ich.

i got him at pet world(big mistake) but i couldnt pass him up. i guess i got what i paid for.

heres a video of him during the day eating, and swimming fine.

im gonna keep doing water changes and start raising the sg back to normal.
but the thing is i dont really have a stable tank to put him in after i raise the sg(mine still has ich). and i cant keep him in the qt because the params are always off, has bad filter, and is kinda small.
what should i do?

I run my refugium light 24/7...Ive only tested the ph once in the AM b4 the lights came on and it was 8.2 still...the first time I noticed it was in the AM and the 2nd time was at night right after they went off...its just really wierd! The fish is doing great right now...I'll try and get some pics tonight when the lights start to go out if he does it...
