Easy Feeding Set Up for a Newb?

I have been researching and looking for products that would allow me to feed continuously 24/7 that is easy to set up, not very expensive, and able to keep the food from stinking up the house. (My parents aren't fond of the houses new odor lol.) They want me to find an alternative method to feeding because I was forced to tear down the previous set due to its stink.

Any thoughts/ideas?

I can't help you but i am waiting on an answer to your question aswell. I'm kinda in the same situation, or atleast i will be when i start the NPS project i'm planning so...

Any help here would be nice

Mini fridge +1

Now...to avoid any smell issue with parents or spouse...pick up a ozone generator (to be used for deodorizing the room not on the tank).

This would seem like a great opportunity for an aquarium company. Continuous feeding of small amounts would not only help NPS, it would help all corals and fishes as well. A turn key mini fridge type solution would be great.

And several are working on it ;)

The problem is price point. There really is no way to bring it to a price point within reach of the vast majority of reek keepers.

True for the vast majority I am sure. However, it sure seems that some very high end gear comes out for this hobby and sells pretty well. I look at what people are willing to pay for led lights and vortech/tunzes as well as the fortune spent on additives I would hope people would pay for something equally important to the animals we keep-good feeding.

It just seems like the time is right since the hobby has solved the water movement, lighting and nutrient export part of the equation that feeding is the next frontier.

Good luck to those that are trying and I for one will be buy the first good solution that comes out (and if history is any guide the next one too...)

Yep ;)

Price...and size. If I can get a small peltier set-up to hold down to 38...watch out.

Got the brain working after seeing this video

With a little DIY, you can make one.
(not finished yet.)

From reading the other thread it seems the issue is that the food has to remain cold in the line as well hence the fridge with the pipe running through it.

For those of you using the fridge method, do you keep water running through the pipe going through the fridge 24/7 or only when the dosing pumps are activated?

Thanks,
Mark

Correct. Ideally everything would have to be contained within the refrigerator (dosing pump, food and lines) to prevent the food from spoiling. Using a single food reactor that is cooled, can hold you for a few hours but would need the lines to be flushed after each dose or after every few hours. Could be set up with a solenoid, a ATO pump, and gallon of RO.
