I am not into SPS , but this piece came on a large frag I wanted. It seems common enough and my best guess would be an encrusting acro or monti, but what do I know? I am all about softies and LPS.
Should I chisel them away from the other coral?

if you want the zoos to keep spreading, the answer is yes... but why scrape when you could frag and trade the encrusting coral for something else...

I mean I will take my hammer and screwdriver and pop the hard coral off whole. there are a few places on the rock where it is growing. It seems to be doing better in my tank than it was in the store so I may just keep them.

I'd just leave it as is... doesn't look like the zoos are bothering it or vice versa. Looks like a porites to me.
