Easy LPS?

The euphyllia family are good lps to start with as long as you have room. Some spread their tentacles out more than others. Torch spread furthest, frogspawn are next, and hammer spread out the least. They are very pretty corals with their flowing tentacles, and are usually not expensive. What else do you have in your tank? What size tank? What lighting? All of these will play a part in your lps choices. Hope that helps. I'm sure others will chime in also. Good luck with your search. ;)

Candy cane, frog spawn, hammer, acan...

actually, I think that 90% of LPS are pretty easy to keep.

A better question would probably be which LPS are hard to keep, and I would say BLASTOMUSSA. Fragile little thing, prone to infection, excessive water movement, etc...

Scolymia and Cynarina are very easy in lower light/flow tanks. They can be expensive but they are easy to care for make great showpieces.

Add Duncans to the list. Fast growing, harmless, and fun to feed if you feel like it, they're pretty much bulletproof.

The prices have come down a lot though. I see them for $15 to $20 a head which is a lot less than I paid for mine a year or two ago and they reproduce faster than any LPS I've kept with the possible exception of candy canes. A single polyp will generally turn into a nice mini colony in a couple of months

How about some pictures? I've always wondered how these branching corals expand. Where do they get that extra stick from? I've seen softies grow and sps but I've wondered how these grow. I currently don;t have any of these,so it'd be nice to see some pics.

Tank size is a 45g bow and lighting is 250w DE metal halide. I'd like more suggestions. I picked up a torch and a frogspawn so keep the list coming :)

You don't have to feed duncans happy, But they certainly enjoy it. They will catch left over fish food/poop, this is usually enough, along with strong lights.

Acan lords are great, and not always expensive. Very fast growers, if they get fed, they grow about the same speed as Duncans possibly faster.

I beleive Chalices are LPS, in that case, Any chalice are usually very hardy.
Not the fastest of growers, but very cool.

Frags are cheaper, than the full colony. Damaged big brains and candycanes cost me $10-15, recovered well in a few months. Unsightly all the time before that. The healthy mail order frags were $8 each.
