Echinaster sp. or linkia starfish and a crocea clam

I have a Tridacnid Crocea and just got a Echinaster sp.. After reading briefly on liveaquaria.com I learned that it is good to feed the star fish clam meat. Is my clam at risk? Should these two critters be in the same tank. Has anyone else had one of these orange stars and a clam?

I am also wondering what the difference between a linkia and an Echinaster sp. is?

i dont know much about starfish other then some do feed on clams. i wouldnt risk it.
