two of my most favorite echino are having a little receding. i dont know why it receding but i am very worry one of them is a watermelon chalice and i paid goood money for it. all water are tested stable. the only thing new i can think of is a new fan for the light, and the fan makes the water cold so the temperature is kinda low in the process of getting new heater. dont know if that could be an issues. thanks in advance for all the help.

exactly what are the temps i wouldnt dv8 to far from 78-81degrees anything more or less will cause problems if its to cold turn off the fan till u get a heater.

what do u guys use to measure the temp in your tank. i have a thermometer i brought from the local fish store.

I use a Reef Keeper 2 to monitor temp and pH. Standard thermometers are normally accurate. Cheap digital ones go bad in a hurry. Or I should say, the probes go bad. You can replace the probes on the RK 2s.

Try checking your thermometer against another one. It's good to double check any thermometer against other ones.

just added heater and the temp is currently at 79-81 seem like the echino is showing a little expanding so i think it was temp. also did a water change and check water and it seem to check out good. let see how they do will update soon. i think i would cry if my mini colony of watermelon chalice die i paid an arm and a leg for it. :) thanks for all the help.
