I've read on many threads that you can control it via EcoSmart Live by using a usb cable.
Even your website claims: "The ReefLink is not necessary to access EcoSmart Live "” but you'll love the flexibility and freedom it provides. By eliminating the need to connect your Radion by USB to a MAC or PC, ReefLink keeps your aquarium always connected, always accessible. With a ReefLink, you can use an iPhone or iPad (and soon Android smart phones and tablets) to control your Radion lights."
Very confused to hear otherwise from a rep for the company... so which is it I suppose?

I think you may be confused.
The op is asking about connecting to the Vortech pumps.
You copy and pasted some information regarding the Radion lights.

Yup I'm an idiot. I google Vortech Ecosmart but it took me to the Radion page.
That's too bad that Reeflink is needed for dialing in timing of Vortech pumps (for those that typically set it and forget it)

I do not think you are a idiot. Just maybe a little more research and you will understand all the differences.
You don't need a Reeflink to control Vortechs They have their own controller and you can set flow patterns and speed.

I thought Vortechs could talk to each other? I don't do it, but I render something about pairing several that were near each other.
