Ecosmart Master for non-ES slave?

I am looking at adding an MP40, and want to know if I get one that is non-ES will my ES functions be available if the ES pump is master?

If you purchase an older style Generation 2 controller, you will not be able to use the EcoSmart functionality on that unit.
