I was looking for anyone that might have personel experience with the vortech powerhead , looking to purchase one or two , if there worth the money . I have read a bunch of reviews and sounds like there about 50/50 both good and bad . I guess if your lucky you get a good one and if you not you have to call Icecap everyday.

I have 4 and love them. I've had a minor issue with one and it was fixed within a couple of days, no calling IC everyday. Very responsive.

I would highly recommend them

Tom, Have you looked at the Tunze Nanostreams? I just got one, Model 6025 and love it. It's a Prop type powerhead similar to the Vortech. Works very well, uses only 6 watts and pushes 660GPH. Just thought I'd give you another option. The price is a LOT less than the Vortech.

good thing about the vortech is there is a battery back up and that no heat enters the tank. They also have the lowest profile of any pump. For your size tank the nano streams just wont do the job, you would need a lot of them. Other than the vorctech I would look at tunze

You'd need 4.5 nanostreams to produce the same amount of flow. plus the fact that each nano would take up the same real estate as 1 vortech.

no harm intended keri, we were not ganging up on you.
The nano streams are a nice pump, much nicer than seios.

Tbass I would consider tunze on a controller before the vortech.
